Want to see Phil In Antarctica?

philjacobson.JPG
This last week, as a priority project for the National Science Foundation, I have been assigned the extra special duties of washing dishes for some NASA Scientists in Antarctica.

In case you're looking at your calendar, and noticing this last week was Christmas, then you're correct, I worked on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Apparently, as my friend Penny said, it's because scientists must not believe in Jesus.

These researchers are studying things relating to the "Big Bang" as to the start of the Universe. My bible knowledge is a bit sketchy, but I don't recall this "Bang" being discussed in the book of Genesis through the book of Revelation.

As a little Christmas Present to me, from NASA, I just found out these researchers have a live video feed you can access from the United States of America via the Internet. Since tomorrow is my last day working with these folks, I've decided to jump in front of this camera for two minutes. How's that for a Big Bang?

If you want to see a small window of my life in Antarctica, tune into

tower.nsbf.nasa.gov/flightvideo.htm
Then click on "primary feed (palestine)"

You shouldn't type "www" before this address. Just paste the address in your address bar as it is. I’ve heard it takes a couple of minutes, even with a cable modem, to get the picture dialed in to your computer.

The streaming video is here so NASA can watch their mammoth weather balloon get launched. The balloon is taller than the Washington Monument and is bigger than two football stadiums. Impressive? Well, so is Christmas.

I'm going to stand in front of the camera for a couple of minutes at approximately 4 p.m. Pacific, 5 p.m. Mountain, 6 p.m. Central and 7 p.m. Eastern Time Zone on December 26. That's your December 26, not mine. This is the last day I can do it, so this is the last you'll hear about. Hope you can see me.

And don't forget: every time you eat, you have a dishwasher to thank.
